The Expanse Season 4 will be coming to Amazon, which has made a deal with Alcon Entertainment to continue the series for a fourth season and perhaps beyond. The Expanse Season 4 will premiere on Amazon Prime on Friday, December 13. Season 4 will have ten episodes when it makes its debut on Amazon Prime Video and all the episodes will be made available at once.
Here’s the official word from Amazon on what Season 4 entails: The fourth season begins a new chapter for the series with the crew of the Rocinante on a mission from the U.N. to explore new worlds beyond the Ring Gate. Humanity has been given access to thousands of Earth-like planets which has created a land rush and furthered tensions between the opposing nations of Earth, Mars and the Belt.
Ilusis the first of these planets, one rich with natural resources but also marked by the ruins of a long-dead alien civilization. While Earthers, Martians, and Belters maneuver to colonize Ilus and its natural resources, these early explorers don’t understand this new world and are unaware of the larger dangers that await them.
The Hugo award-winning series, based on the science fiction novels by James S.A. Corey was developed and scripted by the Oscar-nominated writing duo Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby who executive produce season 4 along with Naren Shankar, Andrew Kosove, Broderick Johnson, Laura Lancaster, Sharon Hall, Sean Daniel, Jason Brown, Daniel Abraham, Ty Franck, and Dan Nowak. Shankar serves as showrunner for all seasons. The Expanse season 4 is produced by Amazon Studios and Alcon Television Group.
Amazon prime has published a trailer on July 20, 2019, along with a short description, “Coming December 13, 2019, only on Amazon Prime Video. With the Ring Gates now open to thousands of new planets, a blood-soaked gold rush begins, igniting new conflicts between Earth, Mars, and the Belt. Meanwhile, on one unexplored planet, the Rocinante crew gets caught in a violent clash between an Earth mining corporation and desperate Belter settlers as deadly new threats from the protomolecule emerge.” Check out the trailer above.
